You’ve imagined this moment a thousand times. Walking onto that dance floor, all eyes on you, feeling completely in control instead of awkward and unprepared.
That’s exactly what happens when you work with our instructors. You’ll move naturally to your chosen song, with choreography that feels like it was made for you—because it was. Your guests won’t just watch; they’ll be genuinely impressed.
No more worrying about stepping on each other’s feet or swaying back and forth hoping the song ends quickly. You’ll actually enjoy your first dance, creating a memory that matches the importance of the moment.
We’ve been helping Suffolk County couples transform their wedding day anxiety into confidence for years. Our instructors aren’t just dance teachers—we’re professionals who understand that your first dance isn’t about perfect technique; it’s about feeling comfortable and connected.
Every couple walks in nervous. Some have never danced together before. Others worry they’re too uncoordinated or don’t have enough time to learn. We’ve seen it all, and we know exactly how to work with your timeline, your song, and your comfort level.
Nassau Point couples choose us because we create choreography that actually fits who you are as a couple, not some generic routine that feels forced or theatrical.
First, we listen to your song and talk about what you want your dance to feel like. Romantic and simple? Fun with a few impressive moves? We design everything around your vision and comfort level.
Then we break down the choreography into manageable pieces. You’ll learn a few moves each session, building naturally until everything flows together. Most couples need 4-6 lessons, but we work with your timeline.
During your final lesson, we run through everything with your actual wedding shoes and any dress rehearsal considerations. You’ll walk out knowing exactly what to expect and feeling completely prepared for your moment.
Ready to get started?
Every dance we create is built specifically for your song, your skill level, and your personalities. We don’t teach cookie-cutter routines that work for everyone—we design something that works for you.
Our private lessons mean you get our full attention. No group classes where you’re competing for instruction time or feeling self-conscious around strangers. Just you, your partner, and an instructor who’s focused entirely on making you successful.
Nassau Point couples appreciate our flexibility with scheduling and location. We understand wedding planning is stressful enough without adding complicated logistics to your dance lessons. We make the process as smooth as possible so you can focus on enjoying the experience.
Most couples need 4-6 private lessons to feel completely confident, but it depends on your song choice and how elaborate you want the choreography. If you want something simple and elegant, we can have you ready in 3-4 lessons.
For couples choosing more complex songs or wanting to add lifts or dramatic elements, 6-8 lessons gives us time to perfect everything safely. We always work within your timeline—whether you have three months or three weeks to prepare.
During your first lesson, we’ll give you a realistic timeline based on your goals and available practice time.
Perfect—that’s exactly who we work with most. Having no experience actually makes things easier because you don’t have to unlearn anything. We start with the absolute basics and build from there.
Our instructors specialize in working with complete beginners. We break everything down into simple, manageable steps and never move faster than you’re comfortable with. You’ll be surprised how quickly you pick things up when someone explains it clearly.
The key is choosing choreography that matches your natural abilities. We’re not trying to turn you into professional dancers—we’re helping you look and feel confident doing moves that work for your bodies and your comfort zone.
Absolutely. We’ve choreographed dances to everything from classic love ballads to current pop hits to unconventional choices like rock songs or even Disney themes. The song doesn’t limit us—it inspires us.
Different songs call for different approaches. A slow, romantic ballad might get a simple, elegant waltz-style dance. An upbeat song might incorporate swing or Latin elements. We listen to your song and design movements that match its rhythm and mood.
The only thing we ask is that you choose a song that actually means something to you as a couple. When you’re dancing to music you love, everything feels more natural and authentic.
Ideally, start 2-3 months before your wedding. This gives us time to create your choreography, practice until it feels natural, and handle any adjustments without stress. You’ll have time to really master the dance instead of just memorizing it.
That said, we’ve successfully prepared couples with much shorter timelines. If you only have a few weeks, we focus on creating something beautiful but simpler. The key is being realistic about what’s achievable in your timeframe.
Starting earlier also means you can practice at home between lessons, which helps everything stick better. Plus, it’s one less thing to worry about as your wedding day approaches.
Not at all. While we’re experts in traditional ballroom styles like waltz and foxtrot, we work with whatever style fits your song and personalities. We’ve choreographed salsa, swing, country, hip-hop influenced dances, and completely contemporary styles.
Some couples want classic elegance, others want something fun and energetic that gets their guests excited. We’ve even worked with couples who wanted to incorporate cultural dance elements or recreate moves from their favorite movies.
The goal is creating something that feels authentically you. If you’re not ballroom people, we won’t force ballroom moves. We’ll find a style that matches your music and your personalities, so your dance feels genuine rather than performed.
Wear comfortable clothes that let you move freely—nothing too tight or restrictive. For shoes, avoid sneakers since they grip the floor too much and make turning difficult. Dress shoes, character shoes, or dance shoes work best.
Ladies, if you’re planning to wear a long dress or train, bring it to at least one lesson so we can adjust the choreography accordingly. We need to make sure your moves work with your actual wedding outfit, not just practice clothes.
For your final lesson, definitely wear your wedding shoes if you have them. Even small differences in heel height can affect your balance and timing, so it’s important to practice in what you’ll actually be wearing on your wedding day.
