Our comprehensive dance program includes private lessons tailored to your schedule, group classes for social interaction, and practice sessions where you can apply your skills. You’re not limited to one approach.

For Wainscott couples planning weddings, we specialize in creating memorable first dances that reflect your personality. From classic waltzes to contemporary routines, we’ve choreographed hundreds of wedding dances for discerning couples throughout the Hamptons.

Beyond weddings, we offer ongoing instruction in ballroom, Latin, and social dance styles. Many of our clients continue lessons long after their special events because they discover genuine enjoyment in dancing. Our Friday practice sessions create opportunities to meet other couples and enjoy the social aspect of dance in a relaxed setting.

How long does it take to learn a wedding dance?

Most couples need 6-10 private lessons to master a beautiful 3-4 minute first dance, depending on the complexity you want and your starting skill level. We recommend starting 2-3 months before your wedding to avoid stress.

If you’re complete beginners, we typically spend the first few sessions on basic steps and connection, then gradually add turns and styling. More experienced dancers might learn a routine in 4-6 sessions. We always work at your pace and comfort level.

The key is consistent practice between lessons. Couples who practice together for 15-20 minutes a few times per week progress much faster than those who only dance during lessons.

Absolutely not. Most of our students are complete beginners when they start, and that’s perfectly fine. We specialize in working with people who have never danced before or feel awkward on the dance floor.

Our instructors are skilled at teaching nervous beginners. We start with very basic movements and build your confidence gradually. You’ll be surprised how quickly you pick up the fundamentals when instruction is tailored to your learning style.

Many of our most confident dancers started as complete beginners who were terrified of looking foolish. Within a few lessons, they’re moving naturally and actually enjoying the process.

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. For women, avoid very long skirts or dresses that might get caught underfoot. For men, regular pants and a shirt work perfectly.

Shoe-wise, avoid rubber soles that stick to the floor or very high heels if you’re not used to them. Leather-soled shoes work best, but smooth-soled dress shoes or even socks work fine for your first few lessons while you’re learning.

Don’t worry about buying special dance shoes until you’re sure you want to continue. We want you focused on learning, not what you’re wearing. Comfort and confidence matter more than looking perfect.

Definitely. We teach all the popular ballroom and Latin dances including waltz, foxtrot, tango, salsa, cha-cha, and swing. Many couples start with a wedding dance and then continue learning other styles for social dancing.

Once you have the basic connection and leading/following skills from your first dance, learning additional styles becomes much easier. We often recommend learning 2-3 different dances so you’re prepared for various types of music at social events.

Our group classes are perfect for learning multiple styles in a social setting. You’ll meet other couples and have fun while expanding your dance repertoire beyond your wedding preparation.

Private lesson rates vary based on your package and goals. We offer competitive pricing with flexible scheduling to accommodate busy lifestyles. Most couples find our wedding packages provide the best value for comprehensive preparation.

We’re happy to discuss pricing during your consultation when we understand your specific needs and timeline. Investment in quality instruction pays dividends in confidence and enjoyment, especially for special occasions.

Many couples discover that dance lessons become an ongoing hobby they both enjoy, making the initial investment in learning even more worthwhile over time.

Yes, we offer group classes and workshops that complement private instruction. These are excellent for meeting other couples, practicing your skills, and learning in a fun social environment.

Our Friday practice sessions are particularly popular with couples who want to use their dance skills in a relaxed setting. You’ll practice what you’ve learned while enjoying music and socializing with other dancers.

Group classes move at a different pace than private lessons, so we often recommend starting with private instruction to build your foundation, then adding group classes for practice and social interaction.
