You walk in feeling awkward at social events and worried about your upcoming wedding dance. You leave knowing exactly how to move with grace and confidence that carries into every area of your life.
The physical benefits hit immediately. Your posture improves, your balance gets sharper, and you’re getting a cardio workout that doesn’t feel like work. But the real transformation happens in how you carry yourself everywhere else.
Students tell us dancing becomes their favorite stress reliever. When you step onto our studio floor in Setauket, the day’s pressures disappear. You’re focused on the music, the movement, and connecting with your partner or the group around you.
We’ve been teaching Suffolk County residents to dance with a simple philosophy: every student deserves individual attention and instruction that actually works. No cookie-cutter approaches or high-pressure sales tactics.
Our instructors bring professional experience and genuine patience to every lesson. They understand that learning to dance is personal – whether you’re preparing for your wedding day, want to feel confident at social events, or simply need a fun way to stay active.
Located right here in Setauket, we know this community values quality instruction and authentic relationships. That’s exactly what you’ll find when you walk through our doors.
Your first lesson starts with understanding where you are and where you want to go. We assess your current comfort level, discuss your goals, and create a plan that makes sense for your timeline and learning style.
Each session builds systematically on the last. You’ll master basic posture and footwork before moving to partnering techniques and more complex choreography. Our instructors adjust the pace based on how quickly you’re absorbing the material – never rushing, never holding you back.
For wedding couples, we work with your chosen song to create choreography that feels natural to you both. For social dancers, we focus on versatile moves you can use anywhere. Every lesson includes practice time so you leave feeling confident about what you’ve learned.

Private lessons give you undivided instructor attention and progress at your own pace. Group classes offer social interaction and the chance to practice with different partners. Both options include access to our welcoming studio community.
Wedding packages include song selection consultation, custom choreography creation, and enough practice sessions to ensure you feel completely prepared. We also offer parent dance coordination and bridal party instruction for couples who want their entire wedding party involved.
Suffolk County couples particularly appreciate our flexibility with scheduling and our ability to work with any musical style. Whether you’re planning an elegant waltz or something more contemporary and fun, we create choreography that reflects your personality as a couple while keeping you both comfortable and confident.
Most wedding couples need 4-8 private lessons to feel completely confident with their first dance choreography. The exact number depends on your experience level, the complexity of routine you want, and how much time you have to practice between lessons.
We recommend starting 3-4 months before your wedding date. This gives you plenty of time to learn the choreography without feeling rushed, and allows for extra practice sessions if needed. Couples who start earlier often decide to add more elaborate moves or learn additional dances for the reception.
If your wedding is coming up quickly, we can work with shorter timelines. We’ll focus on creating a beautiful, manageable routine that you can master in fewer sessions while still looking polished and natural on your big day.
We specialize in teaching complete beginners. Most of our students have never taken formal dance lessons before, and many tell us they thought they “couldn’t dance” when they first walked in.
Our instructors are trained to work with nervous beginners and know exactly how to break down complex movements into manageable steps. We start with basic posture, simple footwork, and gradually build your skills and confidence from there.
Having no dance experience is actually an advantage in some ways. You don’t have any habits to unlearn, and you’ll be amazed at how quickly you progress when you’re learning proper technique from the start. Even if you feel completely uncoordinated, we’ve successfully taught thousands of “non-dancers” to move with grace and confidence.
We teach all the popular ballroom and Latin styles including Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, and Swing. For wedding couples, we work with whatever style best fits your chosen song and comfort level.
Social dancers often start with Foxtrot and Rumba since these styles work with the widest variety of music you’ll hear at parties and events. From there, many students add Salsa for Latin music or Swing for more upbeat songs.
We also offer specialty choreography for non-traditional wedding songs. If you want to dance to contemporary pop, rock, or even country music, we create custom routines that match the feel of your song while incorporating proper dance technique. The goal is always to make you look and feel natural, regardless of the musical style.
Private lesson packages for wedding couples typically range from $400-800 depending on the number of sessions and complexity of choreography. This includes consultation, custom routine creation, and all the practice time you need to feel confident.
Group classes are more affordable, usually $15-25 per person per session. Many students combine private lessons for personalized attention with group classes for additional practice and social interaction.
We offer package deals that reduce the per-lesson cost, and we never require long-term contracts or high-pressure sales. You pay as you go and can adjust your lesson plan based on your progress and budget. We’ll discuss all pricing upfront during your consultation so there are no surprises.
Yes, we offer practice time for current students. This is especially valuable for wedding couples who want extra time to run through their routine without instructor guidance.
Practice sessions are scheduled during designated times when the studio is available. We provide the sound system and space, you bring your music and work on perfecting what you’ve learned in your lessons.
Many couples find that practicing together between lessons helps them feel more connected to the choreography and builds their confidence faster. It’s also a fun date night activity that’s directly contributing to your wedding preparation or social dance skills.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely – nothing too restrictive or formal. Think business casual or workout attire rather than street clothes or formal wear.
For shoes, avoid anything with thick rubber soles or high heels until you’re more experienced. Leather-soled shoes or dance sneakers work best, but regular dress shoes are fine for your first few lessons. We can recommend proper dance shoes once you decide to continue with lessons.
Wedding couples should eventually practice in shoes similar to what they’ll wear on their wedding day, but don’t worry about that for the first lesson. Comfort and freedom of movement are more important than looking perfect when you’re just starting to learn.
