You’ll move from nervous about dancing to genuinely looking forward to it. That wedding reception at the Seawane Club or anniversary party becomes something you anticipate rather than dread.
Your first dance won’t be something you survive—it’ll be a moment you actually enjoy. You’ll know the steps, feel the rhythm, and move with the kind of confidence that comes from real preparation with experienced instructors.
Whether you’re starting from zero or brushing up on skills you learned years ago, you’ll develop the muscle memory and timing that makes dancing feel natural instead of forced. No more counting steps in your head or worrying about stepping on your partner’s feet.
Ballroom Factory Dance Studio has built its reputation on understanding that every student learns differently. Our instructors aren’t just technically skilled—we know how to work with your specific learning style and comfort level.
Serving Nissequogue, NY and the broader Suffolk County area, we work with couples preparing for weddings at local venues, individuals wanting to expand their social skills, and anyone looking to build confidence through movement. Our approach is straightforward: meet you where you are, work at your pace, and focus on what you actually want to accomplish.
Our welcoming environment means you won’t feel judged or rushed. You’ll work with professionals who’ve helped hundreds of Long Island students go from hesitant to confident on the dance floor.
Everything starts with understanding what you want to achieve and how much time you have to get there. We assess your current skill level and design a plan that fits your timeline and goals, whether that’s six weeks or six months.
During private dance lessons, you’ll learn proper posture, basic steps, and timing before moving into more complex movements. Each session builds on the previous one, so you’re always progressing without feeling overwhelmed or lost.
Practice happens both during lessons and on your own time. We give you specific things to work on between sessions, plus tips for practicing at home if you want to accelerate your progress before your big day.

Private dance lessons give you undivided attention from our experienced instructors who adapt their teaching style to how you learn best. You’ll work on Waltz, Tango, Salsa, Cha-Cha, and other styles based on your interests and needs, not a preset curriculum.
Our custom choreography services mean your wedding dance or special performance will be uniquely yours. We create routines that match your skill level, song choice, and personal style preferences—no cookie-cutter approaches here.
Flexible scheduling accommodates the busy lives of Suffolk County residents. You can book Latin dance lessons or wedding dance preparation when it works for your schedule, not just during standard class times that might conflict with work or family commitments.
Most couples need 4-8 private lessons to feel confident with a 3-4 minute wedding dance, depending on the complexity you want and your starting skill level. If you’re complete beginners choosing a simple slow dance, 4-6 lessons usually does it.
For couples who want more elaborate choreography or are working with a challenging song, 8-12 lessons gives you time to really polish the performance. The key is starting early enough that you’re not stressed about it in the weeks before your wedding.
We’ll give you a realistic timeline during your first lesson based on your goals, song choice, and how quickly you pick up the basics during that initial session.
Private lessons cost more per hour than group classes, but you’ll actually learn faster because the instruction is tailored specifically to you. You’re not waiting for other students or working at someone else’s pace.
Most students find they need fewer total hours of private instruction to reach their goals compared to group classes. Plus, you can schedule around your availability instead of being locked into class times that might not work for your Long Island commute or family schedule.
We offer package deals for multiple lessons, which brings down the per-lesson cost while ensuring you have enough sessions to really master what you’re learning.
Absolutely not. Many students start with zero dance experience and do perfectly fine. We’re used to working with complete beginners and know how to break down even basic movements into manageable steps.
Your first lesson focuses on fundamentals like posture, basic timing, and simple movements. You’ll learn at whatever pace feels comfortable, and there’s no pressure to keep up with anyone else’s progress or feel embarrassed about being new to dancing.
Some students actually prefer starting from scratch because they don’t have to unlearn bad habits or incorrect techniques they might have picked up elsewhere or from YouTube videos.
Yes, we can choreograph to virtually any song you choose for your wedding dance. We’ll listen to your song selection and create movements that match the tempo, mood, and style of the music.
If your song has unusual timing or tempo changes, we’ll work with those elements rather than asking you to choose something different. Our goal is to make your chosen song work beautifully for your skill level and comfort zone.
You’ll also get guidance if your song choice might be particularly challenging, along with suggestions for how to adapt the choreography to make it work smoothly for your big day.
We teach all the popular ballroom and Latin styles including Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Salsa, Cha-Cha, Rumba, and Swing. We’ll recommend styles based on your goals, musical preferences, and what you want to use the dancing for.
Wedding couples often focus on Waltz or slow dance techniques, while social dancers might emphasize Salsa, Swing, or other party-friendly styles. If you’re interested in competition dancing, we can work on more advanced techniques in any style.
Each style has its own character and technical requirements, so your ballroom dance lessons will be customized based on which dances interest you most and where you plan to use your new skills.
You’ll notice progress in how the movements start to feel more natural and less like you’re thinking through every step. We’ll also point out specific improvements in your posture, timing, and technique as you develop.
Most students see significant improvement in their confidence and smoothness within the first few lessons. By the time you’ve completed a package of lessons, you should feel comfortable with the basic patterns and ready to dance socially or perform your routine.
We’ll give you honest feedback about your progress and let you know when you’re ready to move on to more advanced techniques or when you’ve mastered what you came to learn for your specific goals.
