You’re not looking to become professional dancers overnight. You want to look like yourselves—just better. Our wedding dance lessons in San Remo, NY focus on what actually matters: feeling comfortable together while everyone’s watching.
We create choreography that works with your bodies, not against them. Simple moves that look elegant. Steps you’ll actually remember under pressure. A routine that tells your story without making you feel like performers.
The result? A first dance that feels natural, looks intentional, and gives you something to smile about instead of stress over.
Ballroom Factory Dance Studio has been helping Suffolk County couples nail their first wedding dance without the drama. We work with everyone from complete beginners to couples who think they have “two left feet.”
We’re not here to turn you into competition dancers. We’re here to give you exactly what you need: confidence, a plan, and moves that actually work for your song and your comfort level.
Located in Suffolk County, we understand the local wedding scene and what couples in San Remo, NY are looking for—something personal, not cookie-cutter.
First, we talk. What’s your song? What’s your comfort level? What are you hoping to achieve? We start with a consultation that costs $39 for both of you—no pressure, just planning.
Then we build your routine step by step. We’re not throwing you into complex choreography on day one. Each lesson builds on what you already know, adding moves that actually make sense for your song and your style.
Most couples need 5-10 private lessons to feel completely ready. We work around your schedule because wedding planning is busy enough. By your big day, you’ll know exactly what to do and when to do it.
Ready to get started?
Your wedding dance lessons include custom choreography designed specifically for your chosen song. We work with everything from classic ballroom to current pop hits—whatever means something to you as a couple.
You get one-on-one instruction in private lessons where you can make mistakes, ask questions, and actually learn without an audience. We teach both partners their individual parts and how to move together as a team.
In San Remo, NY and throughout Suffolk County, couples choose us because we offer flexible scheduling, experienced instruction, and choreography that looks impressive without being overwhelming. You’ll also have access to our studio space for practice between lessons.
Most couples feel completely confident after 5-10 private lessons, but it depends on your goals and comfort level. If you want basic steps that look polished, 5 lessons usually does it. If you want something more elaborate with dips and turns, plan for 8-10 sessions.
We start with a consultation to assess where you’re at and what you want to achieve. Some couples come in already comfortable with basic movement, others have never danced together before. We adjust the timeline based on your specific situation, not some arbitrary standard.
The key is starting early enough that you’re not cramming lessons into the final weeks before your wedding when everything else is happening.
Perfect. That’s exactly who we work with most. Couples with zero dance experience often do better than those who come in with bad habits or unrealistic expectations from watching too many YouTube videos.
We start with the absolute basics—how to hold each other, how to move together, how to stay on time with your music. Every step is broken down and practiced until it feels natural. We don’t assume you know anything, and we don’t skip steps.
The choreography we create uses simple moves that look elegant when done correctly. You’re not learning complex ballroom techniques—you’re learning a specific routine for a specific song that works with your skill level.
Yes, we choreograph to whatever song means something to you as a couple. We’ve worked with everything from Ed Sheeran to Elvis, from Taylor Swift to traditional wedding classics. The song choice doesn’t limit what we can create.
What matters is the tempo, the mood, and what feels right for you both. Sometimes couples think their song won’t work for dancing, but we can usually find a way to make it happen. If your song is particularly challenging, we’ll discuss options during your consultation.
We can also help you choose a song if you’re still deciding. We have experience with hundreds of wedding songs and know what tends to work well for different types of couples and comfort levels.
Start 2-3 months before your wedding if possible. This gives you enough time to learn the routine without feeling rushed, plus time to practice and really own it. Starting too early isn’t a problem—starting too late can be stressful.
We can work with shorter timelines if necessary. We’ve taught couples their first dance the week of their wedding, but it’s not ideal. You want time to practice, get comfortable, and not have this be one more thing you’re scrambling to handle in those final hectic weeks.
The consultation can happen even earlier if you want to get it on your calendar and start thinking about song choices. Once you book your venue and set your date, it’s a good time to reach out.
Wear something you can move in comfortably—nothing too restrictive or formal. For shoes, avoid anything brand new or anything you can’t balance in. Ladies, if you plan to wear heels at your wedding, practice in similar heel height, but they don’t need to be your actual wedding shoes.
Bring your wedding shoes to one of your final lessons if you want to practice in them, but don’t wear them for every session. Comfort during learning is more important than perfect simulation of wedding day conditions.
If your wedding dress has specific restrictions—a long train, fitted sleeves, etc.—let us know during the consultation. We can adjust the choreography to work with what you’ll actually be wearing.
Yes, we teach father-daughter dances, mother-son dances, and can help with wedding party choreography if that’s something you’re planning. Each type of dance has different considerations and we adjust our approach accordingly.
Parent dances often work better with simpler choreography since there’s usually less practice time involved. Wedding party dances can be more fun and energetic since there’s less pressure for perfection. We’ve done everything from simple swaying to full group routines.
If you’re planning multiple special dances for your wedding, we can coordinate them so they complement each other and work within your timeline and budget. Just mention it when you book your consultation.
