You’ll step onto that dance floor knowing exactly what you’re doing. No more worrying about stepping on each other’s feet or looking awkward in front of your guests.
Your friends and family will watch you glide together like you’ve been dancing for years. The photos will capture genuine smiles instead of nervous grimaces.
Most importantly, you’ll actually enjoy those precious first moments as a married couple instead of just surviving them.
We’ve been helping Suffolk County couples create memorable first dances for years. Our instructors understand that most couples walk through our doors with little to no dance experience and plenty of anxiety.
We’ve worked with everyone from complete beginners to couples who can barely agree on a wedding song, let alone dance steps. What sets us apart is our ability to meet you exactly where you are and create something beautiful together.
Located in the heart of Long Island, we’ve become the go-to studio for couples from Oakdale to Bay Shore who want their first dance to be a highlight, not a hurdle.
We start with a consultation where we discuss your wedding song, venue, and comfort level. No pressure, no sales pitch—just an honest conversation about what you want your first dance to look like.
From there, we create a custom routine that fits your song and your abilities. We break everything down into manageable steps, practice at your pace, and adjust as needed.
Most couples need 5-10 private lessons to feel confident and polished. We work around your schedule because we know wedding planning is already overwhelming enough. By your wedding day, you’ll know your routine so well that you can focus on enjoying the moment instead of remembering the steps.
Ready to get started?
Every couple receives completely private instruction in our welcoming studio space. No sharing your lesson time with other couples, no distractions—just focused attention on your specific needs.
We provide custom choreography tailored to your wedding song, whether it’s a classic ballroom piece or the latest pop hit. Our instructors work with all skill levels and dance styles, from elegant waltzes to fun contemporary routines.
Given Oakdale’s beautiful waterfront wedding venues like The View and Bourne Mansion, many of our couples opt for romantic, flowing choreography that photographs beautifully against these stunning backdrops. We understand the local wedding scene and can recommend moves that work well in different venue spaces and settings.
Most couples benefit from starting 3-4 months before their wedding date, though we’ve successfully prepared couples with just a few weeks’ notice. Starting earlier gives you more time to practice and build confidence, plus it provides a fun stress-relief activity during the hectic wedding planning process.
If you’re getting married at one of Oakdale’s popular venues during peak season, we recommend booking even earlier since our schedule fills up quickly. The key is giving yourself enough time to learn the routine without feeling rushed or stressed about it.
This describes about 80% of our couples, so you’re in excellent company. Our instructors specialize in working with complete beginners and mixed-skill couples where one person has more dance experience than the other.
We start with basic posture and simple steps, then gradually build up to your full routine. Everything is broken down into small, manageable pieces that anyone can learn. We’ve never had a couple who couldn’t master their first dance—it just takes patience and practice.
The goal isn’t to become professional dancers overnight. It’s to feel comfortable and confident doing something beautiful together on your wedding day.
Absolutely. We’ve created first dances to everything from classic Frank Sinatra to Ed Sheeran to Disney songs. Our instructors are skilled at finding the musicality in any piece and creating choreography that matches both the song’s mood and your comfort level.
If you haven’t chosen your song yet, we can help with that too. We have an extensive list of popular wedding songs and can recommend options based on the style of dance you’re interested in learning.
Sometimes couples worry their song choice is too fast, too slow, or too unusual. In our experience, the song that means something to you as a couple will always work—we just adapt the choreography accordingly.
We offer an introductory consultation and 30-minute lesson for $39 per couple, which gives you a chance to meet your instructor and get a feel for our teaching style. From there, private lessons are competitively priced with other quality studios in Suffolk County.
Most couples invest between $300-600 total for their wedding dance preparation, depending on how many lessons they choose. We offer flexible payment options and never require you to purchase large packages upfront—you can pay as you go and add lessons if needed.
Given that the average wedding in the Oakdale area costs tens of thousands of dollars, most couples find that investing a few hundred dollars in feeling confident during their first dance is money well spent.
While we do offer group classes for general ballroom dancing, we recommend private lessons for wedding preparation. Your first dance is deeply personal, and private instruction allows us to create choreography specifically for your song, your skill level, and your vision.
Private lessons also mean you can learn at your own pace without feeling self-conscious around other couples. You get our instructor’s full attention, immediate feedback, and the ability to ask questions or request modifications without any pressure.
That said, if you’re planning a larger wedding party dance or want to teach your wedding party some basic moves for the reception, we can arrange group instruction for those scenarios.
The best dance style is the one that fits your song and your personality as a couple. Waltz and foxtrot are classic choices that work beautifully for traditional ballroom songs and formal venues like Bourne Mansion.
For more contemporary songs, we often incorporate elements of rumba, swing, or even create fusion routines that blend different styles. Some couples love the romance of tango, while others prefer the playful energy of cha-cha.
During your consultation, we’ll listen to your song and discuss what kind of mood you want to create. Elegant and romantic? Fun and energetic? Simple and sweet? We’ll recommend the style that best matches your vision and comfort level, then customize it from there.
