You’re planning the most important day of your life, and your first dance deserves to be more than an awkward sway. When you work with our experienced instructors, you’ll walk onto that dance floor with genuine confidence, knowing exactly what you’re doing.
Your guests will remember how natural and graceful you looked together. No more worrying about stepping on each other’s feet or feeling frozen under all those watching eyes. Instead, you’ll have a moment that feels authentically yours – polished but not over-the-top, elegant but still comfortable.
The skills you learn extend far beyond your wedding day. You’ll actually enjoy dancing at future events, anniversaries, and social gatherings because you’ll have real technique to fall back on.
We’ve been teaching couples in Suffolk County for years, and we know exactly what you’re going through. The excitement mixed with nerves, the tight timeline, the pressure to look perfect – we get it because we’ve guided hundreds of couples through this exact process.
Our instructors aren’t just technically skilled – they understand how to work with complete beginners who might feel self-conscious. We create a supportive environment where you can learn at your own pace without judgment. Many of our Islip Manor couples tell us their lessons became a highlight of their wedding planning, not another stressful task.
What sets us apart in the Suffolk County area is our personalized approach. We don’t use cookie-cutter choreography. Instead, we work with your personalities, your comfort level, and your chosen song to create something that feels genuinely like you.
Your journey starts with a consultation where we talk about your vision, timeline, and any concerns you might have. We’ll listen to your song choice and assess your current comfort level – no judgment, just honest conversation about what’s realistic and exciting for you both.
From there, we design a lesson plan that fits your schedule and goals. Whether you want simple, elegant basics or something more elaborate, we break everything down into manageable steps. Most couples need 5-10 private lessons to feel completely confident, but we can work with any timeline.
During each session, we focus on building muscle memory so the movements feel natural. We practice until you’re not thinking about the steps anymore – you’re just dancing together. By your final lesson, you’ll have a routine that feels effortless and looks polished.

Long Island couples particularly appreciate our flexible scheduling options. We understand you’re juggling venue visits, dress fittings, and countless other wedding tasks. That’s why we offer evening and weekend appointments, and we can adjust our timeline based on your needs. Many couples in the Suffolk County area start 2-3 months before their wedding, but we’ve successfully prepared couples with just weeks to spare.
Most couples need 5-10 private lessons to feel completely confident with their first dance. This gives you enough time to learn the basics, practice smooth transitions, and build muscle memory without feeling overwhelmed.
The exact number depends on your goals and starting comfort level. If you want simple, elegant movements, you might feel ready after 5-6 sessions. Couples who want more elaborate choreography typically benefit from 8-10 lessons. We always work within your timeline – we’ve successfully prepared couples with just 2-3 lessons when time was short, and we’ve worked with others over several months for more complex routines.
During your consultation, we’ll give you an honest assessment of what’s realistic for your situation and help you choose a package that fits your needs and budget.
The sweet spot for most couples is 2-3 months before your wedding day. This gives you enough time to learn and practice without the choreography feeling stale or forgotten by your big day.
Starting earlier isn’t a problem – some couples enjoy having months to practice and refine their routine. However, starting too early can sometimes lead to overthinking or forgetting details. If you’re planning something elaborate, 3-6 months gives you plenty of time to perfect every element.
Even if you’re getting married soon, don’t panic. We’ve worked with couples just weeks before their wedding and created beautiful, simple routines that looked polished and natural. The key is being realistic about what you can accomplish in your timeframe and focusing on movements that will make you feel confident rather than stressed.
Perfect – that’s exactly who we’re designed to help. About 90% of our wedding couples are complete beginners, and many tell us they were initially nervous about looking foolish. That anxiety is completely normal and exactly why our approach works so well.
We start with the absolute basics – how to hold each other, how to find the beat in your music, and simple movements that look elegant but feel natural. Everything is broken down into small, manageable steps. We never rush you or make you feel like you should be picking things up faster.
Our private lesson format means you can learn at your own pace without worrying about other couples watching. Many of our Islip Manor clients are surprised by how quickly they start feeling comfortable and actually enjoying the process. By your wedding day, the movements will feel like second nature.
Absolutely. We work with whatever song holds meaning for you as a couple, regardless of genre or tempo. Whether you’ve chosen a classic ballroom piece, a contemporary pop song, or something completely unique, we’ll create choreography that matches the music’s rhythm and mood.
Sometimes couples worry their song isn’t “danceable,” but we’ve successfully choreographed routines to everything from Ed Sheeran ballads to classic rock songs. If your song has tempo changes or unusual timing, we’ll work with those elements rather than against them.
We can also help with song selection if you’re still deciding. During your consultation, we’ll discuss what you’re looking for emotionally and practically, then suggest songs that would work beautifully for your skill level and vision. We can even edit your chosen song to the perfect length for your routine.
Our wedding dance packages start with a consultation for just $39 per couple, which includes discussing your goals and creating a lesson plan tailored to your needs. This gives you a chance to meet us and understand exactly what we recommend before making a larger commitment.
Private lesson packages vary based on how many sessions you need and your timeline. Most couples invest between $300-600 for their complete wedding dance preparation. We offer flexible payment options and can work with different budgets by adjusting the number of lessons or focusing on the specific elements that matter most to you.
We believe learning your first dance should be accessible, not a financial burden during an already expensive time. During your consultation, we’ll be completely transparent about costs and help you choose an approach that gives you confidence without breaking your budget.
For your first few lessons, wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely – think athletic wear or casual clothes you’d wear to the gym. Avoid anything too loose that might get in the way or too tight that restricts your movement.
Footwear is more important than you might think. Wear shoes with smooth soles that let you turn and glide easily – leather-soled dress shoes work great for men, and women can wear low heels or dance shoes. Avoid rubber soles or sneakers that might catch on the floor and make movements feel clunky.
As you get closer to your wedding, we recommend practicing in your actual wedding shoes at least once or twice. This helps you adjust to the height difference and feel confident in your final footwear. If your dress has a long train, bring it to one of your final lessons so we can make sure all your movements work perfectly with your actual wedding attire.
