Ballroom Factory Dance Studio has been teaching Suffolk County residents to dance with confidence for years. We’re not the studio that makes you feel worse about your coordination.
We understand that most people come to us feeling nervous or self-conscious. That’s exactly why we focus on breaking down complex moves into manageable steps that actually make sense.
Located in Suffolk County, we serve Northampton, NY and surrounding areas with the kind of personalized attention that gets real results. No judgment, no pressure—just practical instruction that works.
Your first step is a consultation where we talk about what you actually want to accomplish. Wedding dance? Social confidence? Just want to try something new? We start there, not with some generic routine.
Next, we create a plan that fits your schedule and comfort level. Private lessons give you one-on-one attention without the pressure of keeping up with a group. Group classes let you practice with others who are learning too.
Each lesson builds on the last one. You’re not starting over every time—you’re actually progressing toward moves that feel natural and confident. By the time you’re ready to dance in public, it won’t feel like performing. It’ll just feel like dancing.
Ready to get started?
We teach the dances you’ll actually use. Waltz and Foxtrot for elegant occasions. Salsa and Cha-Cha for when you want some energy. Swing for those upbeat songs that make everyone want to move.
For Northampton, NY couples, we specialize in wedding dance lessons that don’t look choreographed or stiff. Your guests will think you’ve been dancing together for years, not that you learned it in six weeks.
Private lessons mean you get exactly what you need—whether that’s confidence-building basics or advanced techniques. Group classes give you variety and the chance to practice with different partners. Both options work around your schedule, not the other way around.
Most couples need 5-10 private lessons to feel confident with their first dance. This depends on your song choice, how elaborate you want the routine, and how comfortable you are starting out.
If you’re beginning 2-3 months before your wedding, that gives us plenty of time to create something that feels natural instead of rushed. Even if you only have a few weeks, we can design a simple, elegant routine that won’t stress you out.
The key is starting with what you can handle and building from there. No one expects you to look like professional dancers—they just want to see you enjoying your moment together.
Not at all. Many of our students come in without partners, and we make sure you’re comfortable learning regardless.
In group classes, we rotate partners so everyone gets to practice with different people. This actually makes you a better dancer because you learn to adapt to different leading and following styles.
For private lessons, your instructor can partner with you until you find someone to practice with outside of class. Many students meet practice partners through our classes anyway—it’s one of the benefits of learning in a community setting.
Comfortable clothes that let you move freely are perfect. You don’t need special dance outfits or expensive shoes to start learning.
For shoes, anything with a smooth sole works better than rubber-soled sneakers, which can stick to the floor. Dress shoes, flats, or even socks work fine while you’re getting started.
As you progress, you might want to invest in actual dance shoes, but there’s no rush. We want you focused on learning, not worrying about whether you look the part.
We offer a consultation and first lesson for $39 per couple, so you can see if our teaching style works for you before making a bigger commitment.
Private lesson packages vary depending on how many lessons you want and how quickly you want to progress. Group classes are more affordable and give you variety, while private lessons offer faster, more personalized progress.
We’ll discuss pricing during your consultation based on what you actually need. No pressure to buy huge packages upfront—we’d rather you be happy with your progress than locked into something that doesn’t fit your goals or budget.
Absolutely. You can burn 300-400 calories per hour during ballroom dancing, and it doesn’t feel like traditional exercise because you’re focused on the music and movement.
Dancing improves your cardiovascular health, balance, flexibility, and core strength. The variety of movements works different muscle groups than typical gym workouts, and it’s much more engaging than running on a treadmill.
Plus, it’s low-impact, so it’s easier on your joints than high-intensity workouts. Many of our students find they look forward to lessons as stress relief rather than dreading them like they would a typical fitness routine.
Private lessons give you undivided attention and move at your exact pace. Your instructor can focus entirely on what you need to work on, whether that’s specific steps, confidence building, or preparing for a particular event.
Group lessons offer variety and the chance to practice with different partners. You’ll learn moves and variations that might not come up in private lessons, and you get comfortable dancing with people other than your regular partner.
Most serious students do both. Private lessons for focused skill building and group classes for variety and social practice. We can recommend the right combination based on your goals and timeline during your consultation.
