Ballroom Factory Dance Studio has been teaching Suffolk County residents to dance with patience and expertise. We know what it’s like to feel intimidated walking into a dance studio for the first time.
That’s why we’ve built our entire approach around making adult beginners feel comfortable. Our instructors break down complex moves into simple steps you can actually follow.
Located right in of the Branch, we’ve helped hundreds of locals discover the joy of dancing – from nervous wedding couples to singles looking to expand their social circles.
First, you’ll have a consultation where we discuss your goals, timeline, and any concerns. No pressure, no sales pitch – just an honest conversation about what you want to achieve.
Next, we create a personalized plan that fits your schedule and learning style. Whether you need wedding choreography in 5 lessons or want to master social dancing over several months, we map out your path.
Then comes the fun part – actual dancing. Our instructors guide you through each step, correcting technique and building your confidence. You’ll practice with different partners if you’re in group classes, or focus intensively on your specific needs in private lessons.
Ready to get started?
Your dance classes in of the Branch, NY include song selection help, custom choreography, and as many lessons as you need to feel confident. We work with your timeline – even if you only have a few weeks.
Many of our Suffolk County couples choose us because we understand the pressure of performing in front of family and friends. We’ve choreographed everything from simple romantic waltzes to elaborate Dirty Dancing routines.
You’ll get private studio time for your lessons, flexible scheduling around your busy wedding planning, and instructors who genuinely care about making your first dance perfect. Plus, we can help with father-daughter dances and even coordinate with your wedding party.
Absolutely not. Most of our students are complete beginners who’ve never taken a dance class before. Our instructors specialize in teaching adults who are starting from scratch.
We actually prefer working with beginners because you haven’t developed any bad habits yet. You’ll learn proper technique from day one, which means you’ll progress faster than you might expect.
Many of our most confident dancers started as complete beginners who were nervous about their first lesson. Within a few sessions, you’ll be surprised at how natural dancing starts to feel.
Most couples need between 5-10 private lessons to feel completely confident with their wedding dance. It depends on your song choice, how elaborate you want the choreography, and how much time you have to practice.
If you’re working with a shorter timeline, we can create a beautiful, simple routine in just 3-4 lessons. For couples who want something more complex or have several months to prepare, we might recommend 8-12 lessons.
During your consultation, we’ll give you an honest assessment based on your specific goals and timeline. We never oversell lessons – we want you to feel prepared without feeling overwhelmed.
This is one of the most common concerns, and it’s completely unnecessary. In our group dance classes, everyone rotates partners throughout the lesson. You’ll actually learn faster this way because you experience different leading and following styles.
Many of our single students specifically choose group classes because it’s a great way to meet new people in of the Branch who share similar interests. The atmosphere is friendly and supportive – no one is judging your dance skills.
If you’re still nervous about group classes, you can always start with a few private lessons to build your confidence, then join a group when you’re ready.
We teach all the popular ballroom and Latin dances including Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, and Swing. We also offer specialized classes in social dancing and wedding choreography.
Most beginners start with either our social dance basics (Rumba, Foxtrot, Lindy) or Latin fundamentals (Salsa, Merengue, Bachata). These give you the foundation to feel comfortable at most social events.
For wedding couples, we work with whatever song you’ve chosen and create choreography that matches both the music and your comfort level. We’re not trying to turn you into competition dancers – we want you to look natural and feel confident.
Our pricing is designed to be accessible for everyone in Suffolk County. Private lessons start at reasonable rates, and we offer package deals that provide better value for multiple sessions.
We also have group classes that cost significantly less than private instruction while still providing excellent learning opportunities. Many students combine both – starting with group classes and adding private lessons for specific goals like wedding preparation.
Unlike some studios, we don’t require expensive long-term contracts. You can pay as you go or purchase packages that fit your budget and timeline. We’ll discuss all options during your consultation.
Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely – nothing too tight or restrictive. For shoes, avoid anything with rubber soles that might stick to the floor. Leather-soled shoes work best, but smooth-soled dress shoes or even socks work fine for your first lesson.
Ladies should avoid stiletto heels until you’re more experienced. A small heel is actually helpful for balance, but start with something stable. Gentlemen should wear dress shoes or leather-soled shoes if possible.
Don’t stress too much about having the “perfect” dance outfit for your first lesson. Focus on comfort and mobility. As you progress, we can recommend specific dance shoes that will improve your experience on the floor.
