You know that feeling when you’re at a wedding or party and everyone’s dancing except you? That changes here. Our North Amityville dance classes teach you the moves that matter—from smooth ballroom basics to Latin rhythms that get you moving naturally.
No more standing on the sidelines. You’ll learn the fundamental steps of popular dances like Waltz, Foxtrot, Salsa, and Cha-Cha. More importantly, you’ll understand timing, connection, and how to actually lead or follow a partner.
After just a few lessons, you’ll notice the difference. You’ll move with purpose instead of just swaying back and forth. You’ll feel the music instead of fighting it.
We’ve been transforming dancers throughout Suffolk County for years at Ballroom Factory Dance Studio. Our instructors aren’t just teachers—we’re professionals who understand what it takes to help you succeed on the dance floor.
Located in the heart of Suffolk County, we’ve helped hundreds of North Amityville residents master everything from wedding first dances to social dancing skills. Our students regularly tell us they wish they’d started sooner.
What sets us apart is our personalized approach. We don’t use cookie-cutter lessons. Every student gets instruction tailored to their goals, whether that’s nailing a wedding dance or becoming comfortable at social events.
Your dance journey starts with a consultation where we discuss your goals and timeline. Are you preparing for a wedding? Want to learn social dancing? Looking for a fun date night activity? We design your lessons around what you actually need.
During your first lesson, we assess your current skill level and begin with fundamentals. You’ll learn proper posture, basic steps, and timing for your chosen dance style. No intimidation—just clear instruction at your pace.
As you progress, we add more complex moves and focus on connection with your partner. For wedding couples, we create custom choreography that fits your song and comfort level. For social dancers, we teach versatile moves you can use anywhere.
Each lesson builds on the previous one, so you’re constantly improving without feeling overwhelmed. Most students see significant improvement within 4-6 lessons.
Ready to get started?
Our wedding dance choreography goes beyond basic swaying. We create personalized routines that match your music, skill level, and vision for your special day. Whether you want something elegant and simple or a show-stopping performance, we make it happen.
North Amityville couples choose us because we understand local wedding venues and what works on different dance floors. We’ve choreographed first dances at popular Suffolk County venues and know how to adapt routines for any space.
Our group dance classes complement private lessons perfectly. You’ll practice with other couples, build confidence in a social setting, and learn from watching others. Our Friday practice sessions give you extra time to perfect your moves in a relaxed environment.
Beyond weddings, we offer instruction in all major ballroom and Latin styles. Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Salsa, and more. You choose what interests you most, and we provide expert instruction to get you there.
Most couples need 4-6 private lessons to feel confident with their wedding dance, though this depends on your goals and experience level. If you want a simple, elegant first dance, 4 lessons typically covers learning basic steps, timing, and smooth transitions.
For more complex choreography or if you’re complete beginners, 6-8 lessons gives you time to master the moves and feel truly comfortable. We recommend starting 2-3 months before your wedding to avoid last-minute stress.
During your consultation, we’ll assess your timeline and goals to recommend the right number of lessons for your specific situation.
No partner required. Many of our North Amityville students start solo and either bring a partner later or continue with individual instruction. Our instructors are skilled partners who can teach you proper technique regardless of whether you come alone.
For group classes, we rotate partners so everyone gets practice with different people. This actually helps you become a better dancer because you learn to adapt to different styles and skill levels.
If you’re taking wedding lessons, we recommend both partners attend together so you can practice the specific connection and timing you’ll need for your big day.
Comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely work best. Avoid anything too loose or restrictive. For footwear, leather-soled shoes are ideal because they allow you to turn and glide smoothly, but any shoes that don’t grip the floor too much will work initially.
Avoid rubber-soled sneakers or shoes with heavy tread—they can cause you to stick to the floor and make turning difficult. Women should avoid very high heels until they’re comfortable with basic steps.
We keep the studio at a comfortable temperature, but you’ll warm up as you move, so dress in layers if needed. The most important thing is feeling confident and comfortable in what you’re wearing.
Most students feel comfortable with basic social dancing after 6-8 lessons, assuming consistent practice. You’ll know enough steps to get through a song and feel confident asking someone to dance or accepting an invitation.
The key is learning 3-4 reliable moves in each dance style rather than trying to memorize complex routines. We focus on versatile steps that work with most music and can be combined in different ways.
Your confidence grows faster when you practice outside of lessons. We encourage students to attend our group classes and practice sessions to get comfortable dancing with different partners in a social setting.
We teach all major ballroom and Latin dance styles including Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Rumba, Cha-Cha, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive. For social dancing, we also cover Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Swing, and Hustle.
Your choice depends on your goals and music preferences. For weddings, we often recommend starting with Rumba or Foxtrot since they work well with popular wedding songs. For general social dancing, Salsa and Swing are versatile choices.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss which styles match your interests and help you choose the best starting point based on your timeline and objectives.
Private lesson packages start at competitive rates with discounts for multiple lessons booked in advance. Wedding dance packages typically range from $400-$800 depending on the number of lessons and complexity of choreography you want.
Group classes are more affordable, usually $20-$30 per class, and provide great value for learning basic social dance skills. We also offer practice sessions where you can work on your moves with other students for a small fee.
We provide detailed pricing during your consultation based on your specific needs and goals. Most students find our instruction represents excellent value compared to other Suffolk County dance studios, especially considering our personalized approach and experienced instructors.
