You walk in nervous about looking awkward. You walk out moving with grace and actually enjoying yourself. That’s what happens when you learn to dance the right way—with patient instruction that meets you where you are.
Whether you’re preparing for your wedding day or want to surprise your partner with a new skill, you’ll discover that dancing isn’t just about the steps. It’s about connection, confidence, and having genuine fun together.
In just a few lessons, you’ll notice the difference. Your posture improves. Your coordination sharpens. Most importantly, that self-conscious feeling starts to fade as you realize you can actually do this.
Ballroom Factory Dance Studio has been teaching East Northport residents to dance for years, and we’ve seen it all. The nervous bride who’s convinced she has two left feet. The husband who’s only doing this because his wife asked. The couple who wants to reconnect but doesn’t know where to start.
We get it because we’ve helped hundreds of people just like you. Our instructors don’t just teach steps—we help you build real confidence on the dance floor and off.
Located right here in Suffolk County, we know this community values authenticity over flashy sales pitches. That’s exactly how we approach teaching: straightforward, patient, and focused on results that actually matter to you.
First, we sit down and talk. What’s your goal? Wedding in three months? Want to surprise your spouse? Looking for a fun way to stay active? We design your lessons around what you actually need, not some cookie-cutter program.
Then we start with the basics that matter. No overwhelming choreography on day one. We focus on posture, connection with your partner, and building muscle memory for fundamental movements that work in any dance.
As you progress, we add the flourishes and personal touches that make your dancing uniquely yours. For wedding couples, this means choreography that fits your song, your style, and your comfort level. For social dancers, it means skills you can use anywhere music is playing.
Ready to get started?
Your lessons are private, which means no audience while you’re learning. You work directly with experienced instructors who’ve choreographed hundreds of wedding dances and taught students from complete beginners to competition level.
We offer flexible scheduling because we know you’re busy. Evening appointments, weekend sessions, and intensive packages for couples with tight timelines. You can start with a 30-minute consultation for $39 to see if we’re a good fit.
East Northport couples particularly appreciate our custom choreography service. Instead of learning a generic routine, you get movements designed specifically for your wedding song, venue space, and comfort level. We’ve created everything from simple, elegant waltzes to elaborate productions that had wedding guests talking for months.
Most couples need 5-10 private lessons to feel confident with their wedding dance, depending on the complexity you want and your starting comfort level. If you’re complete beginners choosing a simple, romantic routine, you might be ready in 5-6 sessions.
For more elaborate choreography or if you want to include lifts and dramatic moves, plan for 8-10 lessons. We’ve also worked with couples who had just two weeks before their wedding—it’s tight, but we can create something beautiful and manageable in that timeframe.
The key is being realistic about your goals and timeline. During your consultation, we’ll assess your current abilities and help you choose a routine that will look impressive without overwhelming you during an already stressful time.
Absolutely. Most of our students are complete beginners who thought they’d never be able to dance. We specialize in working with people who feel awkward, uncoordinated, or convinced they have “two left feet.”
Our approach starts with the fundamentals that actually matter—how to stand, how to connect with your partner, and basic timing. We don’t throw you into complex choreography on day one. Instead, we build your confidence step by step.
Many of our most successful students were the ones who walked in most nervous. There’s something powerful about conquering a fear and discovering you can actually do something you thought was impossible. That confidence carries over into other areas of life too.
We teach all the classic ballroom and Latin dances: Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Salsa, and Swing. For wedding couples, we work with whatever song you’ve chosen and adapt the appropriate style to fit.
The Waltz remains popular for traditional wedding songs, while Latin dances like Salsa and Cha-Cha work beautifully for couples who want something more energetic. We’ve also choreographed routines to contemporary pop songs, country music, and even rock ballads.
For social dancing, we recommend starting with Foxtrot and Swing since they’re versatile and work with many different types of music you’ll hear at parties, weddings, and social events. Once you’re comfortable with those, we can expand into other styles based on your interests.
Private lessons start at $39 for a 30-minute consultation where we assess your goals and create a plan. Regular private lessons are competitively priced, and we offer package deals for wedding couples who want to book multiple sessions.
Unlike some studios, we don’t require you to buy expensive packages upfront. You can pay as you go and add lessons as needed. This is especially helpful for wedding couples who might need extra sessions if they want to add complexity to their routine.
We also offer group classes at a lower per-person rate if you prefer learning alongside other couples. Many students enjoy the social aspect of group classes, plus it’s a more budget-friendly way to get started if you’re not sure about committing to private instruction right away.
Yes, we regularly work with parents and their children to create meaningful father-daughter and mother-son dances. These tend to be simpler than the couple’s first dance, but they’re just as important emotionally.
We typically recommend a basic Waltz or Foxtrot for parent-child dances since they’re elegant, appropriate for all ages, and not too complex for parents who might be nervous about dancing in front of guests. The focus is on creating a sweet, memorable moment rather than impressive choreography.
Many parents are initially more nervous than the bride and groom, but they’re often surprised by how much they enjoy the process. We’ve had fathers who were reluctant participants become genuinely excited about surprising their daughters with a polished performance.
Definitely. Many of our students are couples who want to learn dancing for date nights, cruise vacations, anniversary celebrations, or just because they’ve always wanted to try it. Dancing together is an excellent way to connect and have fun as a couple.
We also teach individuals who want to prepare for social events or simply enjoy dancing as exercise and creative expression. Some of our single students eventually partner up with other students for practice and social dancing.
Suffolk County has several venues that host social dances and live music events, so learning to dance opens up new entertainment options. Plus, dancing is excellent exercise that doesn’t feel like work—you’ll improve your cardiovascular health, balance, and coordination while having a great time.
